Well thank you for the diary of your adventure, submission seems to be much like most things that I've encountered with the iPhone platform... rife with opportunities for self improvement - never before has programming given me so many good reasons to put my calming techniques to work. Now for a bit of meditation before I begin :P

[...] Corporation Unknown: “I submitted my first iPhone app to Apple for review on Thursday. The process didn’t go smoothly; there were issues I probably should have known about, and issues that seemed to have been compounded by using my client’s keys to release under their developer account.” [...]

i consider myself to be a technical person, but this process is nothing short of ridiculous. i followed all the apple steps to the letter and am still getting invalid signature errors. frankly, i'm not sure what to do at this point.

Finally! I got it after several days, hours, and thanks to this website that was clear than any other so far to explain this miserable process... This was the last piece missing: “com.yourcompany.${PRODUCT_NAME:identifier}”

Thank you...

I've been working on this since Friday... I read almost everything, and your comments was valid in some point ( removing the PROVISIONING_PROFILE), and I renamed my entire app with just one word... Guess what? The binary you uploaded was invalid. The signature was invalid, or it was not signed with an Apple submission certificate. Isn't awful? What else I need to do? TIA.

I just wrote my first iPhone app and simply wanted to give a copy to my father using the AdHoc method. I can't believe what a pain it is to even debug on an actual device, let alone trying to actually have someone else test it! The whole process is a mess and I predict it won't last in its current state for very long. They've got to make the process more transparent. I wonder how many more apps would already be in the store if it weren't so cumbersome?

I wish you'd climbed into a time machine and written this last weekend! This week I went through most of the same errors getting my app uploaded to review ... jpg, not png; PROVISIONING_PROFILE confusion; spaces in app name; and my own special brand of blindness -- an app name that was too long and so containing "..." on the iPhone screen (I'd only seen that a few hundred times before I noticed how ugly it was).

Good luck with the review.
